The holder of the level 3 vocational qualification in building equipment electrician carries out low-voltage electrical installation work (high and low voltage) for residential and other buildings, based on assembly drawings and diagrams. You will be required to carry out safety upgrades to electrical installations in existing buildings. They receive instructions from their manager and may work alone or as part of a team. He works in coordination with other trades, in empty premises or premises occupied by users.

They travel depending on the site. They work regular hours, although deadlines may require them to work overtime or change their schedule. In residential buildings, he checks and commissions the installation. He carries out troubleshooting of the installation in the event of a malfunction being observed.

The equipment electrician works on installations for:

- low-voltage energy distribution networks in buildings

- communication networks in buildings

- security equipment (intrusion, fire, access control)

- automated and communicating equipment in buildings

- energy efficiency equipment and solutions in residential and other buildings (such as photovoltaic generator, electric vehicle charging point, consumption measurement solution)

- motor control and protection system in buildings.

  • Installing energy networks and high-voltage electrical equipment in private areas of residential buildings
  • Performing self-checks and commissioning the electrical installation in private areas of residential buildings
  • Installing energy networks and high-current electrical equipment in the communal areas of residential buildings
  • Securing the electrical installation in existing residential buildings
  • Installing high-current energy networks and electrical equipment in buildings other than residential buildings

Certificate of professional competence 2 - Installing communication networks, high-current electrical equipment and high-current electrical equipment in residential buildings. Installing communication networks, low-voltage equipment and energy efficiency solutions in buildings

  • Installing communication networks in residential and other buildings

  • Professional qualification from the Ministry of Labour Level 3 (CAP)

Maximum total duration of 1,248 hours, including 175 hours in a company and 1,073 hours at the training centre.

A snack bar and a school restaurant are open during the school term; outside the school term, there are a number of food outlets around the school.

Buses run to the school. St Augustin station is a 10-minute walk away.

Sustainable development aspects are covered throughout the course: implementing and complying with safety rules and regulations relating to electrical hazards, ensuring waste sorting and traceability, limiting and recovering offcuts, particularly copper, installing equipment that complies with installation rules allowing accessibility for people with disabilities.
